Scholarship Requirements - April 30 Deadline

30The MGCASUAF, Incorporated will award up to two (2) $1000 scholarships to seniors along the Mississippi Gulf Coast. Any graduating senior who meets the criteria below, is eligible to apply.

CRITERIA

  • Plans to attend Alcorn State University
  • Is a resident of Hancock or Harrison County Mississippi
  • Is a graduating senior from an accredited high school within Hancock or Harrison County
  • Has a minimum high school grade point average (GPA) of 2.5 on a 4 point scale or 80% on a 100 point scale (or equivalent)
  • Has at least an ACT score of 18
  • Participates in community service projects and/or extra-curricular activities


APPLICATION SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS

Complete the online scholarship application below by April 30

A completed online application contains the following:
  • A resume summarizing school achievements and highlighting leadership qualities, community service and extra-curricular activities
  • A recent photo (preferably a senior portrait head shot)
  • A copy of official transcript
  • A copy of ACT score if score is not reported on official transcript
  • At least one recommendation letter from school district personnel
